SLAF Activates Air Defence System - Colombo, Katunayake

SRI LANKA AIR FORCE activated its air defence system in Colombo and Katunayake due to a suspicious air movement around 1:45 a.m today, the Sunday the 29th of April.

Air force sources said that the air defence system was activated immediately after a suspicious LTTE air craft was detected by the air defence radar systems.

Air Force sources further said that the suspected LTTE air craft has bombed four improvised bombs into the Kolonnawa and Muthurajawela areas. However the two bombs dropped into Kolonnawa have caused no damages as they were not exploded.

Meanwhile, one of the two bombs that dropped into Muthurajawela area has caused minor damages to the fire guard equipments of a private Gas company whilst the other caused damages to a water supply.
